Little buntings are so adorable, don't you think!? Between being busy, busy, busy this week....I snuck in some time for a couple projects. I just *had* to experiment a little and it is oh so fun! It was worth a couple late nights....even with my toddler who has decided to let me sleep even less!
I used this new embroidery pattern of my Little Bird on a mushroom to make this colorful mini!
I also finished up my Hiding Gnomie mini and I like how he turned out.
For both of these mini's, I took the advice from Kerri and quilted tall sprouts for a subtle and unique quilting style. It was the perfect thing! She used the same technique on her adorable gnomie mini quilt.
When I showed my husband he thought they were cute, but wondered what they were. I said they are art....to hang on the wall to be cute. He didn't quite understand and I have to admit, I didn't always 'get it' either. Until I made one. I told him that quilters 'get it'. I personally love how you can experiment with something and have it be quickly made into something adorable. Not everything has to be a major project or a giant quilt that takes weeks, months or even years in some cases.
Mini's are perfect 'instant gratification'......well close enough. And oh so fun!
And what's better than a little fun right in the middle of busy, busy, busy? I say, not much. :)
Have a fabulous last weekend of summer!!
