So, I've officially participated in my first swap on flickr and I loved it! (I did do the 3X6 Bee, but that's a little different than this kind of swap.) It was fun looking at everyone's creations and also trying to come up with something I think my partner would like by looking at her mosaic of favorites. You can also look through the person's flickr photostream or even etsy favorites to get more ideas. I was a little late finishing up my pincushion, mainly because I was waiting for the pins to arrive, but it's done now and I love how it turned out. Hopefully __________ will too!! ;)
Here's a closer look at these darling pins! They are from Michelle's Clay Beads on Etsy.
So, that's the thing I finished!!! yay!
Now, for the thing I've started......
Last weekend, I learned something new! Kerri and I had a chance to do some sewing together and thought it would be fun to learn how to do the "Plus" block. I admit, at first I didn't really like the "plus technique", but over time it's grown on me. We followed this tutorial, which was very simple!
After I made a couple and I was comfortable with the technique, I decided I would make a pillow. Although, I'd love to do a table runner, (and I still might) a pillow is a quickie. And these days, I need quickies!!!
So, there's my completed pillow top......now I just have to....well, make it into a pillow!!
Now, let's just hope it will get done in a reasonable amount of time. That's always the tricky part.
Currently I have two small beings hanging at my side, so ME time is coming to a screeching halt. :)
Have a great weekend!
Tasha
