My favorite color combo's right now are probably pretty obvious, but just in case you need clarification......i do love any combination of red, aqua and pink. So, definitely red and aqua fall into that category. This red and aqua quilt was started about a year and a 1/2 ago, shortly after I started redecorating the main living area of the house in these colors.
After I started the blocks for the quilt, I got pregnant and didn't feel well. The pregnancy was difficult and I wasn't very productive when it came to quilting and crafting. I had little tid-bits of energy here and there, but the quilt was way down on the list of things to do. In the last few months of the pregnancy, I was focused on getting the THE NURSERY done. I thoroughly enjoyed doing that, as I have 4 boys ahead of my baby girl, and it was my first opportunity to use pink in my decorating! (yay for girls!)
Even after little Ava was born, it was months before I was feeling up to the quilting, crafting, decorating, etc. Just in the last couple of months, I have been feeling more like myself and sort of balancing the household. Sort of. :) (It was going pretty well until I started A Little Sweetness!)
So, where am I going with all this jibber-jabber?? Well, now that I have time, I have finally been able to get back to this red and aqua quilt!!!! It's the first quilt that I went for another pattern besides a basic patchwork. I added a little extra strip on each 4 square block and added the white sashing. It's also the first larger quilt I am doing the free motion quilting (stippling) on.
Unfortunately, for today, the quilting is over and the other necessary things of daily life take place. Fun, fun! But I'll be back with more quilting updates. :0
